Our Team

Our team entry, in keeping with the Bond theme of the rally, was named Grubozaboyschikov. A bit of a mouthful, so we were often refered to as the "Grub 'n Booze Boys" ;-)

As members of the Northern UK Security Group, a not for profit organisation comprising of over 300 Information Security professionals, in 2010 we jointly supported the White Hat community in raising money for ChildLine.

Our NUKSG and team's fundraising efforts for the rally were also supported by The City Club, a similar community of Information Security professionals primarily based in and around London with some regional members.

Our team drivers were:
Michael – Callcredit / NUKSG
Jeremy – era associates
Sean – DVV Solutions
Jonathan – Knock Knock Who’s There?
Martin – First Defence Information Security
General Grubozaboyschikov was a fictional character and an antagonist in Ian Fleming's 1957 James Bond novel From Russia with Love. He headed the SMERSH whose attempt to murder and discredit James Bond ends in unmitigated disaster! You can read more on Wikipedia.

We would like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity in supporting ChildLine, and in particular the following:
Callcredit – platinum sponsor
DVV Solutions – driver sponsor
era associates – driver sponsor
KKWT – driver sponsor
First Defence – driver sponsor
Infosecurity Europe – marcoms & PR sponsor
PSR Car & Commercial Repairs – vehicle sponsor
NUKSG hold regular open meetings in Leeds and Manchester to facilitate the open exchange of information amongst security professionals whether they be individuals, from end user companies, or from consultancies. Meetings provide structured presentations and networking in an informal setting.
